2023: Appeal Court reaffirms Sen. Bwacha authentic APC Guber Candidate in Taraba

The Court of Appeal sitting in Yola, has declared Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the authentic and lawfully nominated Gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Taraba State for the 2023 General Elections.
The judgement has sets aside the Jalingo Federal High Court judgement which purportedly voided his candidature.
In a summary judgement, the Appeal Court ruled that the institutions authorized by law to monitor and authenticate the conduct of primaries are the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC and the Security Agencies and the respective organisations had presented reports to the effect that the Primary Election was successfully conducted.
The Court held that the lower court merely engaged itself in academic exercise by exploring into irrelevant issues.
Meanwhile, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha while addressing journalists on a telephone interview shortly after the judgement, described the Appeal Court’s ruling in Yola, Adamawa State, as victory for democracy, victory for APC and victory for the good people of Taraba State.
The APC governorship candidate, who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Rekwesin Muri, also stated that the Appeal Court judgment was a true reflection of the conduct of the party’s governorship primary election in Taraba State.
“We listened to the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court in Jalingo in September and kept wondering why the Judge ignored all the reports from the national secretariat of the APC.
“The panel that conducted the primaries also submitted their report but it was ignored.
“I want to thank our party supporters in the State and the media for standing by the truth till today.
“I also want to assure the people of the State of my commitment to rescue the State from the PDP’s bad governance if elected as the governor of Taraba State come 2023,” Senator Bwacha stated.
In his comment on the ruling, the Spoke man and Director, Media and Publicity Bwacha Gubernatorial Campaign Council, (BGCC), Hon. Aaron Artimas, described the ruling as not only a vindication of Nigerians faith in the Judiciary, but also a devine answer to the prayers of millions of Tarabans.
He congratulated the the Taraba State Gubernatorial Candidate, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha and the entire people of Taraba State for the landmark victory, stating that the Court victory was a special gift from God to the long sufferings of the good people of Taraba State.
The director further called on the party supporters to be magnanimous in victory by conducting themselves peacefully.
