Worldview Magazine commends sympathizers over attack

The management and Staff of Worldview Magazine has commended members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), their neighbours and other sympathizers for the solidarity shown them when burgglars broke into the Head Office of the Media House and carted away with their media gadgets and sensitive documents of the organization.
A statement by the Editor-in- Chief of the Magazine, Mr Williams Ayooso particularly applauded the Speaker, Taraba State House of Assembly, Professor Joseph Albasu Kunini, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Comr. David Nya, the Chairman, Correspondent Chapel, Comr. Gabriel Yough and the entire members of his Chapel as well as other sympathizers who either called or visited the media house to sympathize with the management and Staff of the organization.
Mr Williams who described the event as an unfortunate incident however, noted that such ugly trends are very common with journalism profession.
He called on Journalists to remain resolute and professional while going about their lawful duties adding that there was no profession without hazards.
“We most sincerely appreciate all those who suspended their tight schedules to come over to our Head Office and sympathize with us over this unfortunate incidence. We are indeed most grateful.
“While we call on security agencies to help us uncover perpetrators of this ugly act, we advised Journalists not to be deterred by the hazards associated with media practice but always carry out their lawful duties professionally despite all the hazards of the job”. He stated.
Recall that some criminals, last Tuesday night, broke into the Head office of the Worldview Magazine in Jalingo and carted away with items worth over a million naira including laptops and highly sensitive documents of the organization.
