Troops Neutralise Bandit, Recover AK-47 in ongoing Clearance Operations in Taraba.

Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army,/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) on Friday neutralised bandit and recovered arms including one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine containing three rounds of 7.62mm among others, during an operation in Ussa LGA of the state.
In a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director,Army Public Relations 6 Brigade, Capt Olubodunde Ooni, on Friday, the operation was carried out by troops stationed at Kwesati who acted on credible intelligence suggesting the movement of suspected bandits in the area.
According to the statement, the move is part of ongoing clearance operations to sanitise the state and rid it of all forms of crime.
“During the operation, the troops made contact with the criminals and engaged them with superior firepower. The intensity of the engagement forced the bandits to flee in disarray, with several suspected to have escaped into the surrounding forest with gunshot wounds. One bandit was neutralized during the encounter.
“Following the operation, troops conducted a thorough exploitation of the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine containing three rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one motorcycle, and two mobile phones. The statement reads.
Commenting on the successful Operation, Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism.
General Uwa restated the Brigade’s resolve to sustain aggressive operations until all threats are neutralized within the state.
He urged members of the public to continue collaboratik g with security agencies by giving timely information that will aid in the fight against criminality in the state.
