Taraba PRP chair debunks suspension rumour

The Chairman, Taraba State Chapter of People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Mr. Abdullahi Maikasuwa has debunked the allegations and rumour making a round that he has been suspended as the substantive state chairman of the party in Taraba State.

Maikasuwa who was speaking at the party’s State Secretariat Monday, shortly after Presenting certificates of return to the Candidates of the party who won at its primary elections in the state previously, described the allegations and rumour as false, unfounded, kangaroo and mere talks from the enemies of the party who are jealous of the various achievements the party had attained in the state.

He noted that PRP in the state was well prepared to go into the 2023 general elections as one indivisible family and would not allow its enemies to destroy what its expended time, tenacious efforts and courage to patiently build over the years.

“You can’t stop people from making unfounded comments but be rest assured that am fully in charge of the party. Our party has a constitution that prescribed how things are done in the party. So if anybody has any issue or grudge against the party’s leadership, there is a constitution or guidelines that he or she could follow.

“I don’t know why people belong to a system but fail to understand how the system works. However, I want to assure you that I remain the substantive chairman of the party in the state. I am fully in charge of the party and I will never condone any form of distraction from any member who is working for our opposition parties.” Maikasuwa added.

He called on the party supporters to disregard the allegations labelled against him and consider his suspension rumour as unfounded and mere talks from secret agents of other political parties in the state who are beginning to lose hope following the general acceptance of PRP in their respective areas.

The chairman also urged members to ensure that they obtained their PVCs and remain firm, focus and resolute to ensure that the party attains its already visible victory in the 2023 general elections.

Recall that Mr. Abdullahi Maikasuwa has been in the news for sometime now over issues of alleged fraudulent act, misconduct, abuse of office and subsequent suspension by the party executives in the state.

In a recent press briefing in Jalingo organized by some executive members of the party in the state led by Mr Samuel Emmanuel, the people alleged that Comrade Maikasuwa had failed to give a credible account of half of the money he collected from the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the party in the state, Engineer Josiah Wukari Wasa to rent secretariats of the party in the various sixteen Local Government Areas of the state.

They also alleged that he had kept defrauding party members and changing Local Government Executives without following due process and guidelines of the party among many other issues.

The executives had also called on the general public and the National Secretariat of the party to disregard any Correspondent signed by Abdullahi Maikasuwa and insisted that he was suspended and replaced by Mr. Idris Umar as Acting State Chairman.

Meanwhile, the chairman, Mr. Abdullahi Maikasuwa on Monday, debunked all the allegations at the party’s State Secretariat. The chairman in company of the National Women Leader, Mrs. Hajiya Rashida Rikiya, further performed an official function as he presented Certificates of Return to all the candidates of the party who were successful at the Primary elections earlier conducted in the state.

Some of the candidates who received their Certificates of Return at the event include Hon. Ayuba Dan Moto Ismaila who is contesting for Member representing Gassol II, Hon. Suleiman Adamu Scatter who is contesting for Member representing Jalingo 11 and Hon. Musa Audu Danburam, contestant for Member representing Jalingo 1,

Others were Babanyanya Mansur, the Party’s candidate for Jalingo/Yoro/Zing Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulrahman Ahmed, Bali 1 and Hon. Fila Huseini, the party’s candidate for Member representing Ardo Kola among others.

Responding on behalf of the other candidates, Hon. Babanyanya Mansur, applauded the support of the party leadership and expressed confidence that the victory of the party in the 2023 general election was assured.

In her good will message at the presentation of the Certificates to the Candidates, the National Women Leader of the party, Hajiya Rashida Rikiya, advised the candidates to remain resolute and work hand in hand to actualize the victory of the party in the state even as he assured them of the support from the National Secretariat in all the necessary ways.
