The chairman, Porters Association of Nigeria, Taraba State Chapter, Abdullahi Magu, made this appeal while interacting with Journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.

The State Chairman stated that the association had been existing in the state for a very long time but lack of its head office had remain with them  as a result of their low income earning ability

He said the association had been contributing alot for the state by taking off the street, able young men, who would have remain idle and eventually become the devil’s good vessels against the state

“We are doing a great job not only for ourselves but for the entire state and Nigeria at large. Most youths who work as porters may have gone into various social vices and turned to hurt citizens of the state but they are engaged here and are earning their livings using their hands.

“Unfortunately, no one remembered or recognize us. We are always relegated when it comes to empowerment and sharing of palliatives

Again we are making a passionate appeal to the Taraba State Government to empower our members who are predominantly youths of the state. We will be ever grateful if the government will hear our cry”.
