Taraba PDP zones chairmanship position to Central ahead of convention

The Taraba State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, has zoned the chairmanship position to the Central Zone of the state a heads of its convention expected to come up towards the end of this month
This is part of the resolutions reached at the end of the caucus meeting of the party held in Jalingo the state capital yesterday.
Briefing newsmen Shortly after the meeting, one of the chieftain of the party in the state, Ambassador Idris Waziri, explained that the party at the meeting, zoned its eleven positions equitably to the various zones to ensure fairness and justice in the party
“We have agreed to zone positions of the party in the interest of equity, fairness and justice so that every zone will be represented in the party at the state level. For now, we only zoned the 11 offices. Some of the executives are going while others are staying. A time will come when people will show their interest to contest elections or not. We are not going to impose candidates on anybody.
“Accordingly, we have zone the chairmanship position to the Central, the Deputy chairman to the North and the secretary to South. We have eleven positions and they have been zoned equitably with 3 positions in central where the chairman will come from, 4 positions in South and 4 in the North
“With this, I want to assure you that we shall win again. We are always ready and prepared. No body can take us unaware because our party is a solid and well organized party. We are also lucky that we have a leader who is committed, who is educated and willing to see the progress of not only our party but the entire state.
“The governor, his Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas is leading the party very well. He is so democratic and always on the right part. We will continue to do the right things according to the provisions of the constitution. We must continue to avow for equity, fairness and justice in the party because that is what keeps us winning all the times”. He added
Ambassador Idris who said the party was expecting the congress to come up towards the end of the month, reiterated that all members of the party are committed and unanimous in their decisions because they want unity, peace, develop and progress of Taraba State.
He called on the general public to give the governor unflinching support emphasizing that Taraba State would soon become like paradise owing to the mind blowing projects and desmostration of visionary leadership of his Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas.
Also lending her voice, Hon Tina Musa, a former National Women Leader and foremost political women leader in Taraba State, lauded the decision of the party and assured women in the state to remain resolute, especially that they now have a leader who considered not only men but also women in the appropriate positions.
Hon Tina noted that since 1999, Taraba State has been a PDP state and why the party kept winning was because, it embraced internal democracy.
“We don’t just seat down and put down names of people to become this and that. That is why we have come together to see the way forward so that internal democracy will be achieved during the congress.
“His excellency, our faithful leader, Dr Agbu Kefas has thrown the ball to our court. If we are sincere and appreciate what he is doing, then we will key in. He did not say he has any person in mind. He said we should go and bring out trusted and worthy personalities across our zones who would man the positions and handle the affairs of the party in the state effectively to enable the party continue to rule in the state
“I want to assure you that we shall do according to our agreement at the meeting to ensure justice and fairness from the Ward Level, Local Government and the state level. We shall succeed once again”. She added
