Taraba NUJ swears-in new officials of Worldview Magazine Chapel

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Taraba State Council has sworn-in new Executives of Worldview Magazine Chapel
Those sworn-in include; Comr. Yerima Akila Yeri Chairman, Mohammed Tikka Vice Chairman, Christiana Babayo Secretary, Daniel Mtindiga Assistant Secretary, Mr. Christopher Ingyape Financial Secretary, Andetur Bitrus Treasurer, Chief Goodman Dahida Auditor, respectively.

Speaking shortly after administering Oath of allegiance on the New Exco, Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen, chairman of the council, charged the new officials to remain focus and discharge their duties effectively in line with the NUJ Constitutional provisions
He appealed to the State Government and spirited individuals to support Private Media Organizations and Journalism practice in the State through active patronage to enable them survive the current economic realities.
The chairman also called on the Muslim faithful to use the ramadan period to offer special prayers for Journalists across the country
“It is not possible for these Organizations to employ people and pay them effectively without the patronage of Government and spirited individuals. The government and well to do individuals should patronize them so that we will have a vibrant Journalism practice in the State”. He stated
In his acceptance speech, Comr Yerima Akila Yeri on behalf of his team, appreciated members of the chapel for giving them the opportunity to serve and pledged that they would work tirelessly to ensure that they justify the confidence reposed in them
“We will also ensure that Journalism activities in Taraba State are highly projected without fear or favor.
“We are assuring the State Council that we will be law abiding and equally do our best in the interest of our Chapel and the NUJ at large”. He added

Earlier in his remarks, the Publisher Worldview Publications and Creative Services, Mr. Williams Ayooso, said the inauguration ceremony marked the second since the establishment of the Chapel.
He commended the NUJ Taraba State Council for her continuous support not only to Worldview Magazine Chapel but the Organization at large
Mr. Williams expressed deep concern over the traumatic situation of Private Media Organizations in the State occasioned by lack of proper patronage, adding that a private media house can only thrive if it is well patronized
In their separate remarks, Mr. Osbon Ade, Publisher of New Day Newspaper, Mr Joseph Igba, Publisher of Global Times, Mr. Emmanuel Ukwen, former Taraba NUJ Chairman, Hon. Henry Bante and Hon Sylvanus Makondo, SA to Gov Agbu Kefas, all congratulated the new leadership and charged them to discharge their duties with all sense of professionalism//
