Taraba: Local Government boss moves to  expand IGR base

The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), currently the overseer of Jalingo Local Government Council Taraba State, Mallam Isa Muhammad has taken a bold step towards expanding Internally Revenue Generation Base of the LGA which hosts the State’s Capital City.

In a media interaction in Jalingo, the Local Government boss stated that the Council under his leadership had decided to look inward inline with the mission and vision of the Executive Governor of Taraba State Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, and strategize ways of expanding and improving revenue generation in the Local Government.

He noted that as part of the efforts, the Council had among other things, commenced raising of structures at the entrance of the Local Government Council gate, where it hoped to continue engaging Private and Public Partnership businesses with a view to achieving the desired goals.

Isa Muhammad who applauded the developmental strides and focus leadership of His Excellency, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Maintained that the Local Government in the few days under his watch, would not rest on its oars to see that the Council also remain peaceful to enable people go about their normal businesses.

He appreciated all the Jalingo communities for doing their best towards securing the Council and sustaining it on a proper and solid path of progress even as he urged them to keep it up.

“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate all the communities within the council for their various contributions towards the security and general progress of this council within the little time I assume this office.

“Few days back, the various communities came out en mass to help cleared the main market road that was blocked by refuse dumps and hawkers to enable free flow of vehicular movement. This has gone along way to also help prevent snatching of phones and other criminal activities in the market.

” Again, we have volunteers in each of the communities within the council who have offered themselves to secure the council along side Security Agencies in the state. They are doing their best. It will also interest you to know that, some people contribute willingly to support these volunteers to operate well. We are happy about this and we appreciate them so much”. He added.

The boss who Pointed out that the issue of insecurity is not one man’s business, called on the people of the area to remain resolute and more security conscious in order to fish out the bad eggs operating in the council.

Recall that Isa Muhammad took over the leadership of the Local Government Council on the 3rs day of July, 2022 when the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, dissolved chairmen and councillors across the 16 Local Governments Areas of the State following the expiration of their tenure.
