Taraba has never had it this good, Kurmi LGA Boss Lauds Gov Agbu

The Executive Chairman, Kurmi Local Government Area, Taraba State, Hon. Moses Maihankali has said that with Governor Agbu Kefas on the driving seat of Taraba State, the people of the state have gotten it right this time around.

The Chairman stated this when he took a familiarity visit to Worldview Magazine Head office in Jalingo recently.

He noted that within the short time of the governor in office, he had hit the ground running with numerous, glaring developmental projects and other giant steps capable of transforming the state

“The governor came with a mantra; “Moving Taraba Forward” and indeed, he is really moving the state forward, base on what we are seen on ground.

“I am a retired Head of Local Government Administration. I worked round the council and I have seen different administrations within the time I was a civil servant but I want to tell you that Taraba State had never have it so good as the present administration of Dr Agbu Kefas”. He added

Hon Maihankali pointed out that the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas had already put in place Executive Order 3, banning illegal mining and illegal felling of trees as part of efforts to institute a mechanism that would help the state generate much revenue from its natural resources.

While expressing his readiness to make life easy for the people of Kurmi LGA, the chairman disclosed that already, his administration had renovated the Local Government Secretariat, built 14 Local shops and repaired over ten boreholes in the council within the first 100 days in office

He said his administration had also instituted a free medical surgery that is ongoing in the council where all indigene of Kurmi LGA that have health challenges, leading to operation were being attended to.

“We are trying our best to review our revenue generation tariff and right now, there is a free medical surgery that is going in the council. Any indigene of Kurmi LGA that has health challenge leading to operation is entitled for this free treatment. We pay all the bills. This development started since the inception of my administration up to date

“When I stepped out of this office, I want my people to remember that during my time in office, there was total peace in the LGA. I want them to acknowledge my efforts towards keeping the people of Kurmi in good health. My concern is that if you are not healthy, you can not do anything.

“You will also attest that Kurmi LGA is one of the most peaceful LGA in Taraba State. We are able to attain this feat basically because of collaboration. We ensure that the citizens are working in synergy with all the security agencies, stakeholders, traditional leaders, political and religious leaders and because of this good raport, the citizens are always ready to cooperate with security agencies in terms of giving out intelligent report on any criminal act

“The security agencies are also, always proactive when such intelligent reports are given. We also dwell alot on enlightenment and sensitisation. We let people know that insecurity is a joint responsibility, its never a one man business”. He stressed.

Hon Maihankali further lauded Governor Agbu’s efforts towards reviving Nwonyo’s Festival which was abandoned for years, noting that the festival was actually one of the tourism potentials in Taraba State that would showcase the reach cultural heritage of the state
