Taraba Commissioner rebukes APC group, harps on Gov Agbu’s transformative strides

By Worldview Magazine

The Taraba State Commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon Habu Philip, has asked the Taraba State Chapter of APC Youth Vanguard, to stop baseless criticisms and tell the world about the mind blowing achievements of the governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas

The Commissioner was reacting to a recent criticism raised by the APC group about the frequency and cost of foreign trips undertaken by the governor in a bid to attract foreign investors

The APC group under the leadership of Amb Rikwense Muri, had recently gone to the press, where they raised concerns about the frequency and cost of foreign trips undertaken by Governor Agbu Kefas in a bid to attract foreign investors to the state.

They had argued that the governor was expending large sum of money from the state treasury to woo foreign investors but ironically, the large expenditures have not translated into tangible benefits for the people of Taraba State.

But the Commissioner, while reacting to the criticism, described it as baseless and insensitive, adding that such horrible acts can only come from people he described as ingrates.

He stated that instead of projecting the good policies and mind blowing projects being carefully executed by the governor Agbu Kefas’ led administration in Taraba State, the APC group had unfortunately, taken to baseless criticisms to gain cheap popularity

Hon Habu who described Governor Agbu Kefas as God’s gift to the people of Taraba State, harped on the achievements of the governor within one and half year in office, noting that the APC group needs to be educated that the governor still have more than two years ahead to complete even his first tenure

“With such aggressive criticisms of a person who is only one and a half year in office, by the APC Youth Vanguard, one wonders weather they know that so far, education in public primary and secondary schools in Taraba State is free, courtesy of the present administration.

“Are they not aware that school fees of students at various Taraba State tertiary institutions was reduced by half, by the governor? What about massive renovation of health centers across the state?

“If they are not enemies of this administration, they should at least, tell people about the mind blowing transformations in the agricultural and power sector of the state. They should tell people about the governor’s giant strides in the areas of security, youths empowerment and women empowerment.

“They should, at least for once, be able to praise the governor for repositioning the state on the path of progress in all ramifications. I don’t want to mention the inclusive character of the governor.

“Our people must learn how to appreciate leaders to encourage them to do more”. The Commissioner stated.
