Taraba Commissioner Distributes Food Items to Over 200 Students

The Honourable Commissioner, Taraba State Ministry of Waste Management and Innovation, Comr. Shonzen Bernard, accompanied by his elder brother Dr. Ishaku Bitrus Mannang of the Department of Animal Science Taraba State University Jalingo, some of his friends, staff of his Ministry, visited Taraba State University and distributed food items to over two hundred Yorro Local Government students.

The Commissioner, while speaking at the event, stated that the gesture aligns with the vision of his principal, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Governor of Taraba State, in promoting education.

According to him, he chose to distribute food items to Yorro students because he understands the challenges students face, particularly in the current economic reliability. He recalled experiencing similar difficulties during his school days, which motivated him to share his resources with the students.

“I urge you to focus on your studies, work hard, be patient, and pray, as these are the keys to success,” he advised.

He emphasized the importance of dedication, hard work, determination, and prayer in achieving success, and prayed for God’s blessings upon the students and their studies.

Earlier in his address, Dr. Ishaku Bitrus Mannang praised Hon. Shonzen Bernard for his kind gesture and benevolent act and urged the students to work diligently and make them proud.

Speaking on behalf of the students, President of Yorro Student Union Comr. Makong Bello expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for demonstrating kindness by distributing food items during this challenging period when everyone is grappling with personal issues.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance and elevation to greater heights.
