
SUBSIDY REMOVAL: NLC JOINS PROTEST IN ADAMAWA

The organized Labour in Adamawa State has joined its counterpart nationwide to protest removal of fuel subsidy by the President Tinubu led the Federal Government.
The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Chairman Adamawa State Comrade Emmanuel Fashe who led the protest, described the subsidy removal as anti workers policies saying that it had resulted in jerking prices of good and services in the country.
Comrade Emanuel Fashe called on the Federal Government to reverse it policy on subsidy removal considering the suffering workers are going through.

He however appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the plan put in place by the state government to Provide temporary measures of cushioning the hardship faced by workers through provision of N10,000 each to workers and pensioners, food and fertilizer as well as subsidization of shuttle buses in the state
Dr. Amos Edgar, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri who represented the Governor, said government understands the hardship being experienced and has taken measures towards cushioning the plight of the workers.
Comrade Emmanuel lodged a protest letter on behalf of the organized labour to the state government.
