RAMADAN: BOARD SECRETARY TASKS MUSLIMS ON LOVE

The Executive Secretary, Taraba State Muslim Pilgrim Board, Alh. Ahmed Chiroma has called on Muslim faithful to demonstrate love for one another and faithfully pray for peace and tranquility during and after their usual annual Ramadan fast that commenced last Tuesday.

Alh. Ahmed Chiroma who gave this charge while interacting with journalists in his office in Jalingo last Thursday noted that the Ramadan period is a highly spiritual moment set aside by the Almighty Allah for Muslim faithful to enable them draw closer to Him.

Accordingly, he encouraged Muslim faithful to donate generously to the weak and the poor in the society and to eschew all forms of trouble, fornication and all other sinful acts during and after the Ramadan to enable them pleased the Almighty Allah.

“Apart from taking time to pray for the peace and tranquility of this country, we must be generous. We must demonstrate love and not only talk love”.He stated.

While calling on Muslims to faithfully observe the Ramadan fast from the beginning to the end, the Executive Secretary noted that travelers, sick persons, menstruating women, hard labourers, nursing mothers as well as women who put to bed are exempted from the fast owing to their conditions.  He however stated that such persons are expected to provide at least one square meal for one poor person within their vicinity on each day of the Ramadan fast.

He applauded the Executive Governor of Taraba State Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku for the various supports he had given to the board and prayed God to grant him more strength and wisdom to continue.

Harping on the Board’s preparation for this year’s Pilgrim, the Secretary stated that preparations were on top gear to enable them have a hitch free pilgrimage. He revealed that many people had successfully registered for the last year’s pilgrimage but could not make it due to the outbreak of Covid-19 in the world.He said such people would be accommodated on the list of intending Pilgrims for this year.

Alh. Ahmed Chiroma called on the intending pilgrims to receive their full dose of Covid-19 vaccine and obtain their E-passport as these according to him are the necessary prerequisite for accepting any person intending to join the pilgrimage for this year even as he encouraged members to take advantage of the JAIZ Saving Scheme to minimize some challenges they sometimes face in the course of the program.
