NUJ condoles Taraba Daily Trust Correspondent over loss of wife

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Taraba State Council, has condoled the family of Daily Trust Correspondent in Taraba state, Alhaji Magaji Hunkuyi over the demise of his wife, Hajiya Sa’adiya Gambo who passed on, Tuesday after a protracted illness.
At a condolence visit, led by the chairman, Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen and other executive members of the council, the journalists described the demise of Hajiya Sa’adiya Gambo as an unfortunate incidence that attracts sympathy and empathy on the bereaved, Alhaji Magaji Hunkuyi and his family.
The Chairman, Comrade Eliud Jen who spoke on behalf of the journalists during the condolence visit, said the incident was very painful considering the fact that Late Hajiya Sa’adiya was a very humble and kind woman who cared much for her husband and the entire family throughout her life time
He urged Alhaji Magaji Hunkuyi and his family to take solace in the fact that the deceased had left numerous legacies through her life time in her husband’s home, praying that God should grant her eternal rest and all the bereaved the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss
Comrade Eliud Jen also used the avenue to appreciate the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas for always standing with journalists in the state at all times and assured him that the press in the state would not relent in its efforts towards projecting the Five Finger, Moving Forward Agenda of his government
“I want to appreciate the Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for always identifying with journalists in the state at all times. Am surprised that the governor had in person, earlier called the bereaved , Magaji Hunkuyi to console him over this unfortunate incidence. This act is not common at all and we journalists in the state will never take it forgranted.
“You will also recall that during the election that brought me on board, the governor dosed out a whooping sum of five million naira to enhance conduct of the election. We are happy about these acts of the governor and we pray that God should continue to help him and all the journalists in the state so that we shall work in synergy to enable him achieve his Five Finger Agenda”. He stressed.
While responding, Alhaji Magaji Hunkuyi, thank members of Nigera Union of Journalists for identifying with him at his difficult moment and solicit for more prayers so that God will comfort him over what he described as an unforgettable moment of life.
Recall that Alhaji Magaji, the Senior Correspondent of Daily Trust Newspaper loss his beloved wife, Hajiya Sa’adiya Gambo on the 7th day of November, 2023. She died at the age of 47 and left behind her husband, children and her old mother. She has since been burried according to the Muslim rites.
