God’s Grace and Love Outreach, has conferred an award of Excellence and a motivational package of hundred thousand on the Executive Governor of Taraba state and other personalities who have contributed immensely to the development of the society in terms of Leadership and good governance.

Presenting the awards during the second edition of the Leadership Governance Conference at the CAN secretariat in Jalingo recently, Rev Dr. Victor Falack, the convener of the Leadership Governance Conference and founder/President of the Centre for Leadership and Conflict Resolution Initiative said the gesture was born out of the immense contributions of the awardees to the societal growth and development.

He said the Governor particularly does not need a meagre amount of a hundred thousand but the gesture was just a demonstration of the recognition of his good works and to sow a seed that would yield good fruits for generations to come.

Interacting with our correspondent at the event, Dr Falack explained that the motivational package accompanying the awards was given in a bid to motivate the awardees as well as to correct the misconceptions about awards, especially in this part of the world.

“As leadership instructors, we have discovered that there is an abuse going on in the society which we need to correct. When you are given an award, you should be motivated and encouraged to do more.

“If you look at international arena, when awards are given, the beneficiaries are encouraged, there awards are backed with cars or some money to encourage people to do more. However, here at home, our country Nigeria, when someone gives you an award, he is indirectly telling you to come and donate.

“We need to correct some of these things by giving what I called motivational package. We have set a pace today to encourage the awardees to do more and see the change. I preached a message to people and for those that will give awards, this is how it is done, it is mot fund raising. If everyone will do this, the level of awards in our society will crash by 95%”. He said.

The clergy relayed a message to the Governor through the Chaplain of the Government House, Rev Sheka Bambur who accepted the award on behalf of the Governor.

‘To the Governor, I passed a message, that I know he doesn’t need one hundred thousand naira but the ministry sent one hundred thousand in recognition of what he has done and also as a seed. When you take it as a seed, it will bring forth seeds tomorrow. That’s what I told them to tell the governor, that it is a seed and when properly utilized, he will reap from it for generations to come’ Victor said.

Giving an appraisal on the conference, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (PFN) Chairman, Adamawa State Chapter, Rev Japhet Tonmwaso confessed that the conference is one of the most life changing ones he had ever attended as it could be compared with any program globally.

“This program is so resourceful, enriched and so nourished. I have seen things that are uncommon and different from some of the meetings I have been attending. Yesterday, some people’s contributions were recognized and awards were given to them. What is very common with most programs these days is that, organizers of such programs use awards to raise money. But the case here is different. Beneficiaries of the awards here didn’t even know they would receive awards here. I also just discovered that a recipient of an award is still given money attached to that award. I have not heard it or seen it anywhere”. He confessed.

While expressing awe on the personality of the convener, the Reverend applauded the commitment of Rev Dr Victor Falack, stating that his resilience and dedication is enviable and second to none.

In his words, “the man has a very profound vision from god to impact the body of Christ and when I look at the level of his commitment to this vision, it is unequal to many. The life of Rev Dr Victor Fallack is so exceptional”.

He charged Rev Falack to remain steadfast in his cause, not to relax on his oars and also prayed that God will sustain him and the conference for all to benefit even in years to come.

Other activities during the Conference include, ordination of two Pastors, Dr Christiana Victor Falack and Sister Stella Chumntan, medical services and others.

Our correspondent also reports that the conference which hosted over 6000 believers was single handedly sponsored by the God’s Grace and Love Outreach to the tune of over 20 million naira as everything was given for free, from food, accommodation to registration.
