LG Poll: Senator Manu describes Governor kefas as a true democrat

The Senator representing Taraba Central and immediate past Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Engr Haruna Manu, has described the Executive Governor of Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas as a true democrat who deserves commendation by the people of Taraba State
The Senator was addressing journalists in Mutumbiyu, the Administrative Headquarters of Gassol Local Government Area shortly after casting his vote at Isa I & II polling unit, ward B for the Local Government election held in the state on Saturday, 18th November, 2023.
Senator Manu stated that governor Kefas had taken a brave and courageous step to have conducted elections across all the Local Government Areas of the state despite the fact that he spent barely 6 months in office.
“It is not every governor that will agree to do what you are witnessing today. Despite the governor’s military background, he has demonstrated beyond every reasonable doubt that he is a true democrat. Some States choosed to go by Caretaker System, where they bring in persons of their choice to head their States’ Council’s. But for His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas, he has allowed the will of the people to prevail.
“Right at the Primary election of our great party up to this moment where we are meeting other political parties, he has allowed people to choose persons they consider best for them. That is why you are experiencing peace all over the state at the time of election. No body has a good reason to fight again. I want to use this opportunity to congratulate him and salute his courage”. Senator Manu added.
He called on the people of Taraba State to support the governor and his good intentions to enable him transform the fortune of the state.
While advising the potential chairmen and counsellors to lead well when they eventually assume their offices, the Senator expressed confidence that would justify the confidence repose in them by always remembering that they are representing their people and not leaders for themselves.
Earlier, the Taraba State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Hon Muslim Usman Aruwan who also voted at the Local Government, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the elections in the areas and assured that his party, the PDP would emerged victorious across the state at the end of the processes.
The Commissioner who applauded the Executive Governor of Taraba, Dr Agbu Kefas for given a free hand for people to choose their leaders themselves, advised those that would emerged victorious at the election to live up to their responsibilities and support the Moving Forward Agenda of the governor to draw dividends of democracy to the people.
Our reporter who monitored the elections in the area reported that the election processes commenced around 10:00am and proceeded peacefully to the end across the Local Government Area.
