Jalingo LG boss rolls out development projects in Taraba capital city

Jethro Yerga, Jalingo

The Caretaker Chairman, Jalingo Local Government Council, Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan has once again, proven the fact that a golden fish, indeed has no hidden place.

Alh. Hassan Jauro who took over the mantle of leadership of Jalingo Local Government Council as the Caretaker Chairman, just a month ago, has proven beyond all reasonable doubt to the good people of his Local Government council that, though he was engulfed in the service of providing the health care need of Taraba State people in his former office as the Executive Secretary, Taraba State Primary Health Care Development Agency (TSPHDA), providing direct service to them was already in his vein.

Obvious, the energetic and pragmatic leader of high repute took over the mantle of leadership of the council with his shirt and the legs of his trousers folded and the man hit the ground running.

Barely a month into the office, there are visible marks of seriousness and determination to fulfill the promises he made during his inauguration in the new office.

With the safety of lives and property taking the better part of his concern, Dr. Aminu Hassan has since assumption of office, streamlined a road map of activities with series of meetings with different organizations, traditional leaders and security agencies as well as the local government officials where several fruitful security strategies had been mapped.
No wonder, the people of the Local Government, especially in some hotspot areas, have begun to sleep with their two eyes closed.

Also, in the area of infrastructural development, the caretaker chairman had in collaboration with RAW Rural Access for Women and European Union, flagged off a 10km road in the council in which the state government is going to give counterpart founding at the commencement of the project.

Speaking in his office in Jalingo while receiving the management and staff of Worldview Magazine who paid him a courtesy call recently, Dr. Aminu Jauro noted that, survey had been completed and soil testing was ongoing for the execution of the project.

He however noted that the Local Government Council may not be constructing roads but would only assuage TARCMA to do more in the council.

That is not all, Dr Aminu Jauro Hassan has remodeled the chairman’s office, the conference Hall of the Secretariat and ensure that electricity is fully installed in all the offices of the Local Government. No wonder, Civil servants are now consistent in their various offices with most of them closing even after 5:00pm during working days.

Revealing some of the salient projects his administration had attained within first month of his administration, the Caretaker Chairman said “We have been able to send over 15 people to Hope Afresh Foundation with at least one in each ward of the council, for skill acquisition.

“We came into the office with three cardinal objectives namely security, entrepreneurship and revenue drive. We discovered that there are lots of revenue sources all over the local government which are poorly tapped and so we have already started deliberate efforts towards plugging those revenue sources to support services in our local government across the various wards.

“As am speaking to you, I have already directed my workers to submit three priority activities of their various wards. Be it rehabilitation of a structure, construction of culverts or borehole.

“We have also taken deliberate efforts to remind ourselves of our roles and responsibilities as public servants. It is not all about salaries only but an obligation between we and God.

“We are aware that this constituency is a new environment and the demands are very high. But I want to assure you that all the challenges are not insurmountable. We are equal to the task. We will continue to do our best. We will continue to serve as role models for others to copy.

“Though there is scarcity of founds, we believe that if we put the little amount available into judicious use, God will help us to serve our people effectively and also move the local government to another level”. He narrated to worldview Magazine team during the courtesy visit.

Alh. Hassan Jauro further appreciated the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku for giving him another privilege to serve his people as the Caretaker Chairman of Jalingo LGA after seven years and eight months as the pioneer Executive Secretary of PHCDA.
