IF I BECOME GOVERNOR, I WILL DEMOLISH THE FLYOVERS CONSTRUCTED BY FINTIRI-OTUMBA OF EKITI

From Emmanuel Samuel, Yola

A Governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Engineer Umar Mustafa Popularly known and referred to as the “Otumba of Ekiti” has said that if he eventually becomes the Governor of Adamawa State, he will demolish the flyovers constructed by the incumbent Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri and build a befitting structure that will be of beneficiary to the people of Adamawa state.

The gubernatorial hopeful dropped the hint during a press interview in his resident on Saturday accusing him of constructing a flyovers that is causing more problem to members of the public. “if I eventually becomes the Governor of Adamawa State, I will pull down the flyovers construed by incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri”.

He maintained that “there was no sense in spending about 20 billion naira for flyovers that are wastage when there are important things that are needed to be done that should uplift the living standards of the common people whose businesses are collapsing”.

Engineer Umar Mustafa also identified lack of unity of purpose to be responsible for the under development of the state despite the human resources that are abound, the State still remained stagnant without consumable development to it status”.

He noted with regret that since the creation of Gongola State in 1976, key players have been thinking and acting indifferently even under the military regimes “due to certain factors which includes ethnic, religion or sectional device has played key roles in the under development of the State by key players in government”.

“This they refused to do due to problems based known to them even as much as the state has all it takes to be among the developed states in the sub region but still finds itself at a bottom ladder of development”, he stressed.

The Otumba of Ekiti listed these problems as among others that is compelling him to gun for the Chief Executive position of the State, as according to him, he has all it takes to develop the state.

He observed that infrastructural and physical development can only be achieved in the state like Adamawa if the key players despite their different inclinations are put behind them in a desperate move to achieve the best results for the citizens of the state.

Engineer Mustafa gave assurance that if given the mandate to govern the state he will bring investors to develop Adàmawa State. “I have investors that can do the magic for the state without relying on the Federal Government monthly subvention.
