Group congratulates governor Kefas, others over excellent leadership Awards

The Taraba State Tiv Peace Initiative group, has heartily congratulated the governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas on his recent award on inclusive governance, presented to him by Taraba State Tiv Traditional Council at the celebration of Silver Jubilee of the Tiv Traditional leadership in Bali LGA, Taraba State
The group equally congratulated other eminent personalities who also received various awards alongside the governor including the member representing Bali 1 constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Veronica Alhassan, the commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon Philip Habu and the Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor on Political matters, Hon Josiah Kente among others
In a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Elder Teghtegh Shaakaa, who was also presented with the award of Pillar of Peace at the occasion, the group described governor Agbu Kefas as a resilient leader whose passion for unity and development of the state is immeasurable
Teghtegh Shaakaa lauded the mass appointments given to vibrant youths across tribes in the state, the free education policy and the various agricultural reforms brought into the state by Governor Kefas, stating that the governor deserves more awards
He commended the various contributions of the awardees towards the unity and development of Taraba State, expressing hope that the awards would trigger them to do more for the state
“We congratulate our governor, Dr Agbu Kefas on this well deserved award. We equally want to commend the other eminent personalities including distinguished member representing Bali 1 constituency at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Veronica Alhassan, the commissioner for Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation, Hon Philip Habu, the Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor on Political matters, Hon Josiah Kente and Dr Abaver Joel Terkuram, the Central leader of Tiv in Zamfara among others, for their various efforts towards development and the unity of the state
“We are convinced that these awards are not products of coincidence but they are all testament of your hard work, dedication and passion for the unity, growth and peaceful coexistence of all the tribes in Taraba State”, the statement reads in part.
Recall that the Silver Jubilee celebration which featured different performances including “kwaghhiir”, traditional dances and other cultural activities showcasing the reach cultural heritage of the Tiv people, was well attended by high profile personalities within and outside the state.
