Governor Ishaku bags award of excellence on youth employment, women empowerment

The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku has baged Worldview Magazine’s award of excellence on youth employment and women empowerment.
The Board of Directors and Management staff of Worldview Magazine presented this award to the governor at Takum, the Administrative Headquarters of Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State during his interactive session with People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) loyalist of Usa, Takum and Yangtu Development Area of Southern Taraba.
Presenting the award on behalf of the organization, the Group Managing Editor, Worldview Magazine, Mr. Simon Ira Maiyaki, noted that the award was aimed at recognizing the giant strides the governor had made towards youth employment and women empowerment.
“Your Excellency, this award is presented to you in recognition of your giant strides towards youth employment and women empowerment”. He stated
Speaking during the presentation, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Publisher of Worldview Magazine, Mr. Williams Ayooso stated that the Management Board of the organization had considered the Governor worthy of the award owing to the quantum number of youths and women he had taken away from streets in the state.
He noted that the award was earlier slated as part of activities that marked the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Worldview Magazine where the governor was to received it along side other distinguished personalities of the state but due to turned out of events, the presentation was rescheduled for this day.
He stated that the day turned up to be the best as the organization had considered the award as its Christmas gift to the governor.
The publisher commended the governor for his high level of humility and delligence to the service of the state and prayed God to build a hedge of protection around him to enable him complete his tenure successfully.
Meanwhile, the Editor of the magazine who read out the tremendous efforts the governor had made towards Rescuing youths and women of the state from the dreaded jaws of poverty, recounted that Since assumption of office on 29 May, 2015 , His Excellency, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku had set free, countless number of youth and women from the dreaded jaws of poverty in the State.
“He has sponsored the training of 168 persons at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria.
“He has given tool kits to 120 trained Village Level Operations and Maintenance Mechanics (VLOM) as well as starter packs to 119 unskilled youths, trained in various skills in the state.
“Again, the first, second and third phases of trainees under the post Secondary Schools Youths Empowerment Programme at the Peter Akintola Youth Centre for Industrial Training, Abeokuta, Ogun State has been successfully completed and the trainees graduated.<
“Not long ago, over 1300 youths were empowered through different skills acquisition programs in the state. Sixty of them were taken to Kenya for training on modern water production and disbursement.
“It is worthy to note that currently, the Executive Governor has graciously granted approval for employment of 3, 000 qualified applicants into Taraba State Civil Service Commission. The process has been completed as successful applicants have since commenced documentations.
“It will also interest you to note that, Governor Darius’ led administration had previously sponsored training of 335 persons for the first batch of Youth and Women Empowerment Programme under the Rescue Watch in Jalingo where participants were trained in various skills acquisitions including tailoring, hair dressing, cape tray, shoe making, soap making and computer operation to mention but a few.
“Early last year, the governor gave approval for the recruitment of three thousand Rescue Teachers and additional four hundred casual staff were absolved into the Civil Service as permanent and pensionable workers in the state.
“It is very glaring, even among the doubting Thomases that going through the Governor’s Appointment of Advisers, And Special Assistants, alot of Youths are ably represented.
“Today, 78% Of Our Local government Council Chairmen and Councillors are Youths, cottecee of His Excellency Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku.
“The governor had sponsored training of another 51 set of youths, selected across the state. The youth were trained extensively on Information Communication Technology, Fashion and Design, Electrical, Catering and Tourism, Tiling and concreting as well as Metal fabrication. He expended the sum of two hundred and sixty five thousand naira ( N265,000.00) on each of the trainees. This covered the cost of feeding, accommodation and hospital bills for the eight months the training lasted.
“This is even as each of the participants received N5,000 monthly for pocket money during the program and at the end of the program, beneficiaries earned certificates of the National Board for Technical education, NABTEB, London City of Guild and the German Cooperative certificates respectively.
“It is at the backdrop of these and many more, that Worldview Magazine, one of the fastest growing magazines in the North East Region of Nigeria, deemed it fit to present the award of excellence to His Excellency, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku on Youth employment and women empowerment”. He narrated.
While receiving the award, His Excellency, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, appreciated God for granting him the opportunity to serve the good people of Taraba State up to the moment.
The governor commended the Board of Directors and Management staff of Worldview Magazine for sustaining commitment to journalistic principles of digging out facts and relaying same to the general public in a most effective and objective manner and encouraged the magazine to keep the spirit up.
“Let me sincerely commend the management of Worldview Magazine for digging out facts to prove most people wrong about their impression on this administration. This award is truely a Christmas gift to my humble self and the entire people of Taraba State. It is a morale booster and we shall not take it for granted, we are grateful indeed”. The governor added.
