Gov Kefas Approves Members of Taraba Livestock Development Commission.

Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointment of members of the Taraba State Livestock Development Commission, subject to screening and confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
The approval, conveyed in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps, named Dr. Dauda Abubakar Muhammad, Chairman, Tirmidhi Aliyu Baba, PhD, Bujuje Akape Danjuma (RAS, MASAN, JP), and Aisha Bashir Ardo, PhD, as part of the commission’s membership.
Also included are the Permanent Secretary of the commission and representatives drawn from key ministries, departments, agencies, and stakeholder groups, not below the rank of Director.
The represented ministries and agencies include the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Taraba Marshall Security Guard, Taraba Geographic Information System (TAGIS), and the Nigeria Police Force.
Other members include representatives of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), cattle rearers, livestock farmers, crop farmers, butchers, dairy or farmers’ associations, and traditional rulers in the state.
In line with inclusivity, the governor approved the appointment of three additional members, with at least one being female, to represent livestock farmers, crop farmers, butchers or dairy farmers, and traditional rulers.
The establishment of the Livestock Development Commission is part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen livestock management, promote food security, enhance agricultural value chains, and address farmer–herder relations in Taraba State.
