FUW sets to roll out 120 first class graduates

Federal University Wukari, (FUW), Taraba State is set to roll out 120 graduates with first class degrees at its 6th and 7th Convocation Ceremony billed to take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Alh. Dr. Adamu Baba Yunusa Convocation Square of the institution
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Jude Sammani Robo, disclosed this at a press briefing held at the conference hall of the institution ahead of the Convocation Ceremony
The Vice Chancellor stated that a total of 3, 031 individuals would be conferred with Bachelor’s degrees, 73 would be conferred with M.Sc./M.A. degrees while a total of 20 candidates would be conferred with Postgraduate Diplomas, making a total of 3,124 candidates.
Professor Jude Sammani disclosed that three Prominent Nigerians would be conferred with honorary degrees (Honoris Causa).
“While HRM. Manu Ishaku Ali Ada – the Aku-Uka of Wukari will be conferred with the degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa), Barr. Boss Mustapha, the immediately past SGF will be conferred with Doctor of Law (Honoris Causa). Chief Obadiah Ando on the other hand will be conferred with Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa)
“Aku-Uka is the Paramount Ruler of the Kwararafa Kingdom and also Chairman, Taraba State Council of Chiefs. Before his enthronement as the Aku- Uka, he served as Chief Forest Superitendent and Forest Reservation Officer in charge of Taraba State from (1994-2000). Since his emergence as the Aku-Uka on January 28, 2022, he has been very supportive to the Federal University Wukari.
“Chief Obadiah Ando had earlier served as Hon, Minister of Water Resources and member of the Federal Executive Council between 2010 and 2011 in the administration of Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. He has been very supportive of Federal University Wukari as well.
“Barrister Boss Mustapha is the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). He had earlier held several Federal and State Government appointments in the Country and he remains a solid supporter of Federal Uníversity Wuakri”. He explained
Professor Robo said the Perimeter fence of the university, the Faculty of Arts complex building, the Faculty of Clinical Sciences building, the Faculty of Science building, the Administrative building, a printing press as well as Sachet water factory and Vehicles, would also be commissioned ahead of the Convocation
