“Do not despise your little begining” Bishop Hammawa charges youth.

The Catholic Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, Most Reverend Dr Charles M Hammawa has charged young people to embrace their days of little beginnings as it is the only way they can grow.
The Bishop made this call while admonishing the students who graduated from the St Joseph’s Youth Vocational centre in Jauro Yinu this Tuesday.
According to him, everyone must be the change they want to see and that can only happen when everyone is diligent with their handwork or trade as the case may be.
“You have been taught, you have been equipped with various skills. Go and use it. Do not despise your little beginnings and do not look down on your source of income.
“Laziness will lead you no where and so, anything your hand finds to do, do it with all due diligence. Remember, you don’t build a house in a day, it’s little by little.
“You must also be diligent and sincere with your handwork and in your dealings with people so that they can trust you with their jobs. And if you keep up, one day you will hit the target.
“We want a peaceful world where things go according to plan but we must wake up and make that happen. We must be the change we want to see. You don’t have to be the President to invoke change or make good things happen. When God sees your little efforts, he magnifies it.
“Be an agent of change from your won community and for the country at large. Don’t be someone who wants to reap from a place they did not sow” He charged.
Addressing the students, the Rector, Father Stephen Bakari felicitated with the graduating students and encouraged them to make good use of their skills in the labor market.
“The people trained in this place are not just Catholics, infact more than half of those graduating today are not Catholics. This is good work for mankind and we do not segregate.
“I enjoin you all to make judicious use of the skill you have acquired because many are also seeking to have this privilege you have so do not take it for granted” He advised.
The Director of the Vocational centre, Mr Luka Dali in his speech challenged the students to put on the virtues of Patience, tolerance and peace in all their endeavors now and in the future, stressing that to everything under the sun, there is always an end.
The certificates and start up tool kits were presented to the graduands by His Lordship, Most Reverend Bishop Charles Hammawa.
Responding on behalf of the graduating students,Aweh Hassan Yaro, applauded the efforts of Bishop Hammawa, the community and the leadership of the Vocational centre in Jauro Yinu.
He called on the younger ones who they are leaving behind to be obedient and pay keen attention to their training so that they can one day also graduate and become useful members of the society.
