Catholic church ordains three Priests in Jalingo.
By Christiana Babayo.
The Catholic Diocese of Jalingo on Friday ordained three Catholic Priests, Father Stephen Kegdwem, Father Benjamin Nomiri, and Father Victor Tyogema.
The ordination of the three priests took place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathederal, Mile-six Jalingo.
Speaking during the ordination,
His Lordship, Most Rev Michael Duigan Clonfert, Republic of Ireland charged the Priests to always lead christ-like lives while carrying out the assignment God has given to them.
He said the Priests must pray in season and out of season because prayer is what draws and keeps every believer close to God.
The Bishop also tasked the laity to not relent in their prayers for the new Priests, stating that though they have been given this great assignment, they are still humans and will need the prayers to carry on God’s service diligently.
Shortly after the Mass, Father Victor Tyogema who spoke on behalf of the ordained priests expressed gratitude to God for his faithfulness to them throughout.
He also appreciated the Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, Most Rev Dr Charles Hammawa and the entire Catholic Church for the support and prayers they received while pledging that they will carry on their duties with the fear of God.
Worldview reports that the three priests were assigned their posts after the ordination; Father Stephen Kegdwem, Assistant Priest – St Justina Mayo dassa, Father Benjamin Nomiri, Assistant Priest St Patrick Sabon Gida and Father
Victor Tyogema Assistant Priest St Peters Nukkai.
