Bye election: No candidate was imposed in the primaries- Party Chieftain

Former Chairman, Muslim Pilgrim welfare board, Alh Hamman Adama Tukur has said that the emergence of the flag bearer of the PDP for Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Bye election, Prince Sadiq Abbas Tafida was purely a consensus not imposition.
The Stakeholder who said this in a media chat with our correspondent in Jalingo called on party faithfuls to maintain the spirit of patriotism even as they prepare to go into the poll come February, 2023.
He said party members must remain united at a time like this and also bear in mind that those who stepped down did not fail, rather they have brought about the victory of the party even before the elections.
“The candidate has emerged through consensus, it was the all aspirants that agreed as whole, to bring out one credible candidate among them to contest with the other candidates in the forthcoming bye election, that was how Sadiq Abbas Tafida emerged, so there was nothing like enforcement.
“Nobody forced anybody to withdraw or denounce his aspiration, they all withdrew for the good of our party PDP.
Some people were saying that Sadiq was chosen because of his Father, Emir of Muri, that allegation is not correct, everyone knows Abbas Tafida as a non partisan leader, he is a father to all.
“I call on the other aspirants that participated in this consensus to fully support our party and to throw their massive support to our candidate on this election, I am also appealing to the electorates of Yorro, Jalingo and Zing to equally support our candidate and vote PDP in the forthcoming election because it is only PDP that can deliver this state” He stated.
Alhaji Hamman Adama commended Gov Agbu for his constant efforts to ensure that the party remains firm and free from rancour.
He also commended the cooperation of the contestants and prayed that God will continue to guide the party leaders as well as members so that victory will be achieved in the upcoming elections.
