By Jethro Yerga, Jalingo

The Acting Chairman, Ardokola Local Government Area, Taraba State, Hon. Zakkari Ismaila fondly called Dangote, has described the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku as a forthright leader whose potential initiatives and intellectual attributes have pulled the state out of the jaws of security anomie and economic retardation and reposition it on the fast lane of development.

The Acting Chairman who took over the leadership of the Local Government Council from his boss, late Hon. Salihu Dovo who was assassinated recently, disclosed this in Jalingo while speaking with journalists.

He stated that the governor through his forthright, principled and ideological concepts has restored the almost lost glory of the state and provides dividends of democracy which are already in the domains of the good people of Taraba State.

“This is a governor who calls you at any time to find out the security situation in your Local Government and responds immediately if there is any challenge.

“By way of Infrastructure, I want to remind you that the road from NYSC Camp to Nukai Bridge that is undergoing serious rehabilitation by the governor is Ardokola LGA. And several other projects which the governor had instituted to better the lives of our people.

“For us in Ardokola, we cannot count how many political positions the Executive Governor, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku has given to us. We are almost the first in terms of the total number of appointments given by the governor in his administration. Apart from that we are enjoying a kind of peace that I lack adjectives to qualify, courtesy of His Excellency Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku”. He said.

The Chairman who pledged that his administration would continue to give the governor the needed support to successfully complete his tenure prayed that God should continue to protect and guide him.

While expressing confidence in the recently inaugurated supervisory councilors and advisors in his council, Hon Zakari said the supervisory councilors and advisors alongside the secretary were selected base on their track records of hard work, commitment and general contributions to the overall development of the area.

He said “As you can see, we were been very careful in our selections. We selected people that deserved those positions after we also carefully considered their capacities. The appointments are purely based on merit.
All the supervisory councilors you see come from different wards and all of them are very hard working. I believe they will serve their people effectively using their wealth of experience”. He stated.

Stressing their antecedents, the chairman noted that during the last election, the team worked tirelessly to see that the election was conducted under a free and fair atmosphere.

Hon. Zakari who pledged to consolidate on the projects and plans of his boss called on the newly appointed councilors to always work as a team to ensure that the good people of Ardokola Local Government Area feel the impact of their leadership.

He also appreciated the cordial relationship that is existing between the stake holders and political leaders in the Local government and prayed that God should grant them the grace to keep it on.

He said “Our relationship as stakeholders and political leaders is very cordial. I seriously appreciate the leadership qualities of the member representing Ardokola LGA Hon. Bukuni Dominic. He is a very simple man who sometimes visit his people in their houses. He doesn’t even mind to visit us in our offices to discuss with us issues affecting our people. I can best describe him as a political demagogue”. He stated.

While praying God to grant them the grace to sustain the unity in the council, the Acting chairman called on the new councilors and advisors to also follow their footsteps and work hard to ensure that the peaceful coexistence that is existing between them and their mentors as well as all the ethnic groups in the LGA is sustained.

The Acting chairman further called on the people of the Local Government in particular and the entire country to always be security conscious and to join hands with the leaders to fight insecurity especially that security of lives and property is not a one man affair but a collective issue.
