ACReSAL challenges Taraba TRUTH and FACTS over publication on borehole project in Taraba

The Taraba State Agro-Climatic Resilience In Semi-Arid Landscapes Project (ACReSAL), has challenged Taraba TRUTH and PACTS, a local tabloid published in Taraba State, over a publication (Online), dated Monday, 13″ November, 2023 which claimed that Bello Yero, an aspirant for Member House of Representatives seat of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State has donated Water Project to Yorro Community
A release signed by its Communication Officer, Mr Emmanuel Injaprim on behalf of the management and issued to journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State ACReSAL denounced the publication and described it as misleading, faulty, and deceitful.
The release states that the said publication which indicates that the Project was said to be located in Yorro Local Government Area of Taraba State, is capable of tarnishing the good intentions and image of Taraba State ACReSAL, its supervisory body and the State Project Management Unit (SPMU).
“We wish to emphatically state that the Borehole in Yorro LGA is part of the World Bank-sponsored project being drilled by Taraba State ACReSAL and supervised by the State Project Management Unit (SPMU).
“It is not a Project donated by Mr. Bello Yero, an aspirant for Member House of Representatives seat of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State. The Taraba State ACReSAL considers that the said article was either published in error or it is simply a cheap blackmail to gain the sympathy and/or votes of the electorate”. The release reads in part.
It further described the publication as a grievous misrepresentation and demands for a prompt apology from Mr. Bello Yero to avoid a legal redress.
According to the release, the Taraba State Project Management Unit (SPMU), also called on the publisher of TARABA TRUTH and FACTS to retract the story by publishing the press released in the same space and size.
The release called on the general public to disregard the publication by TARABA TRUTH and FACTS, giving credit to Mr. Bello Yero as the man who purportedly donated the borehole to the people of Yorro LGA and enjoined them to, as a matter of urgency, report any person suspected of tampering with boreholes or any World Bank project in Taraba State to the Security Agencies or ACReSAL Headquarters.
