NEW TERROR GROUP RISES AS NORTHERN NIGERIA FACES ENDLESS INSECURITY

Mohammed Tikka

Once again, fear is creeping into northern Nigeria. A new terror group called Wulowulo has emerged, and it’s already being linked to Boko Haram. Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State raised the alarm during a recent security meeting, warning that this group, believed to be a breakaway faction of Boko Haram, is now making its way into North-Central Nigeria, especially in Kwara State.

The Governor didn’t hide his concern. He said the rise of the Wulowulo group could open the door to more bloodshed and chaos in the region. What’s more worrying is that these groups seem to be getting stronger, spreading from state to state while the government struggles to keep up.

The Lakurawa group, which was once active in Kebbi and Sokoto, is now growing in Kwara. And there’s fear it could move into Nasarawa next. These are not just random gangs, they’re organized, deadly, and slowly eating into new territories like a disease with no cure.

This situation raises big questions: Why does insecurity in the North keep getting worse? Why do new terror groups keep showing up like it’s business as usual? And most importantly, who is really behind all this?

Many Nigerians are beginning to wonder whether some powerful hands are silently backing these groups, making it harder for the government to truly win this war. It’s almost like the terror groups are trying to overpower the system from within, and the authorities either can’t or won’t stop them.

For over a decade, Boko Haram has kept the North East in constant fear. Now, new groups like Wulowulo are rising from the ashes, spreading into the North Central. The cycle keeps repeating, new names, same terror, no lasting solution.
