In a move to ease the suffering of residents and patients using the road leading to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Jalingo, Taraba state, Operation Keep Taraba Clean has begun work on repairing and clearing the collapsed culvert at the FMC junction.

The coordinator of the initiative, Mr. Iliya Kefas Alhaji, said the location was chosen because of its importance, especially for those visiting the hospital during heavy rains. According to him, the poor state of the road has been a major challenge, particularly for the sick and their caregivers.

The construction work is being funded by the Taraba State Government under the leadership of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas. The Chairman of the Palliative Committee, Hon. Saleh Sa’ad, who inspected the site, explained that the increased rainfall had made the area nearly impassable for vehicles, prompting the urgent intervention.

Saleh Sa’ad praised the effort of Mr. Iliya and his team, saying that even though the project wasn’t directly their responsibility, the Governor gave them the go-ahead to step in due to the urgent need.

Also speaking, Mr. Iliya Kefas thanked the Governor for allowing his team to contribute to improving the environment and making life easier for the people of Taraba. He assured that the team would continue working to support cleaner and safer communities across the state.

Meanwhile, Hon. Nura Dan-tsoho the PDP chairmanship candidate for Jalingo in the forthcoming local government elections, also praised the Governor’s commitment to development and applauded the efforts of Operation Keep Taraba Clean for taking meaningful action to solve local problems.
