APSON lauds Governor Kefas over transformation of educational sector in Taraba

The Association of Private School Owners of Nigeria (APSON), Taraba state chapter has commended the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas for transforming the educational sector of the state within the short time he has been in office
The association, through a statement signed by the chairman, Rt Comrade Mcha Sylvanus and issued to press in Jalingo in the wake of celebration of World Teachers’ Day 2024, lauded the mind blowing achievements of the governor, highlighting the free education policy in primary and secondary schools and the reduction per half, School fees of tertiary institutions in the state
The association noted that the governor’s gesture, has touched lives down to the grassroot and has gone a long way to alleviate the sufferings of many parents, especially in polygamous families
It felicitated with governor Kefas, his Deputy Alh Aminu Alkali and other government functionaries over the celebration of the 2024 World Teachers’ Day.
We wish to felicitate with His Excellency Dr.Agbu Kefas the Executive governor of Taraba state; the Deputy governor Alh. Aminu Alkali; Speaker,Taraba State House of Assembly; Chief Judge of the State, Justice Filibus Agya, Secretary to the government of the state; High Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Ngwi of Mambilla AKA Jagaban of Gashaka; the Hon. Commissioner of education Hon.Dr. Augustina Godwin; the entire members of the State Executive Council; members of Taraba State House of Assembly and the good people of Taraba state, over the celebration of the World Teachers’ Day.
“It is a pleasure to celebrate this day because of the special priority of Dr. Agbu Kefas led administration on education.
“His Excellency has declared free education in primary and secondary schools in Taraba state and has also slashed the tuition fee of all the higher institutions in Taraba State. This gesture has touched lives down to the grassroot. Thank you very much, your Excellency”. The statement reads in part
It further charged teachers in Taraba State to take their jobs with utmost seriousness and make good use of the opportunities given them in the state to offer quality education services to children to enhance accelerated growth and development of the state.
The association appealed to the government to continue to support teachers by attending to their needs in terms of welfare and their health to enable them give out their best at all times, emphasizing that “teachers are the mother of all professions!!!”
“We salute all Teachers, Private School Owners, School administrators and managers, Ministry officials, NGOs, international organizations and all who contribute to building a better future for our children!”. The statement added
