The Taraba State government is set to spend Over a hundred billion naira on works, health, education and others, in the year 2020.
The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Hon Solomon Elisha said this while addressing journalists on Friday,the 31st of January,2020.
The Commissioner said that while works,housing and transport sector has a budget of Seventy six billion, the health sector in the state is expected to gulp almost fifteen billion Naira while education and water resources will gulp over ten Billion Naira and over three Billion Naira respectively.
He further disclosed that “the budget of accelerated growth and development will pay attention to all critical sections of the economy in the hope of bringing uncommon development in the state in terms of human capacity and infrastructural development”.
Elisha also said that the budget is predicated on the assumptions that the national inflation rate, GDP growth, oil production benchmark, oil price benchmark stand at 9.43%, 3.60%, 2.3million and N305/ $, respectively.
The Honorable commissioner rightly stated that the total budget stands at over two hundred and fifteen Billion Naira and the recurrent expenditure will only take 33.52% while the capital will take the chunk of 66.48% respectively.
