Breaking: Taraba Speaker Kunini resigns, Bonzena emerges new Speaker.

The Speaker, Taraba state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prof Joseph Albasu Kunini has resigned from office.
Kunini handed over his resignation on Wednesday through a letter addressed to the House.
The letter which was read by the Deputy Speaker, Hon Hamman Adama who presided over an emergency session said the development is based on personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Hon John Kizito Bonzena, Chairman House Committee on Education, and the Chief whip of the Ninth Assembly from Zing Constituency emerged the new Speaker.
Addressing journalists after the session, the new Speaker Hon John Kizito Bonzena said the development is not strange in every political setting.
He however said that Kunini’s resignation is due to personal reasons but he is still a member of the House nonetheless.
“The former Speaker resigned based on personal reasons and as a house we don’t allow vacancy that is why the new Speaker was elected today and I happened to be the one elected.
The former Speaker however, remains one of us and he is very dear to us.
“We will do everything humanly possible to do what is expected of us within these few months. And I will not work alone, I’ll consult former speakers, members of the house and we will work together” He said.
