Nigeria under siege, explore ways and defend yourselves – TY Danjuma
Jethro Yerga, Jalingo
Nigeria’s former Minister of Defence and elder statesman, Retired general Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, Saturday, urged Nigeria communities to rise up and explore all the necessary ways to defend themselves against their killers whom he said are foreign bandits.
Retired General TY Danjuma made the call at the occasion of the official coronation and presentation of staff of office to the 25th. Aku Uka of Wukari, HRM. Manu Ishaku Ada Ali.
Danjuma stated that Nigeria was at present, under siege by foreigners and Nigeria army had abdicated themselves from their responsibility of defending the people and coluded with the foreign bandits to make Nigerians refugees in their land.
He urged the newly installed chieftain to explore the same sources of weapons of the invaders to also arm his people to defend his territory so as to stop depending on the already polluted Nigerian Army.
Danjuma recalled that back then in 2017, he revealed that the military was colluding with the arm bandits but the then minister of defence, rose up and made a kangaroo commission of enquiry that mischievously submitted that there was no evidence about his claim.
He said they wrote their report which indicated that he was only speculating, that there was no evidence “but now there was evidence as the whole country now is being run and overrun”.
“I thank God today that the evidence is very clear to all Nigerians now. All Nigerian communities are now sacked by the same bandits I alleged and all these bandits are foreigners.
“You are surrounded by the arm Bandits who are out to kill and destabilize the peace of your territory and you must make serious efforts to defend your people and the territory.
“As a soldier, I must say the best way to defend is to attack. I will not buy arms for you, find out how those attacking you acquired them, acquire them and attack back to defend yourself and your territory.
“My prayer is that God Almighty that has given us this land will give us the courage to face our enemy and locate where he is and drive him out of the country. This we must do otherwise Nigeria is finished.” Danjuma stated.
He congratulated the new supreme ruler of the great Kwararafa kingdom, the Aku Uka of Wukari and further advised him to embrace peace and ensure its existence, emphasizing that he must defend his territory and the people.
Governor Darius Ishaku and his plateau state counterpart, Simon Lalong while speaking at the occasion, called on the new Aku Uka, HRM. Ishaku Manu Ada Ali to follow the historical footsteps of his predecessor to rule the Kwararafa kingdom with justice.
Also, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alh. Sa’ad Abubakar (iii) appealed to traditional rulers within the Aku’s jurisdiction to give him the needed support to succeed and asked the youth and politicians to carryout their political campaign in peace.
Earlier, Alhaji Bello Yero, Taraba state permanent secretary, Bureau for local government and chieftaincy affairs, commended governor Ishaku for ensuring that the traditional stool of the Jukun kingdom was restore with a Paramount ruler.
Worldview Magazine reports that, HRM. Ishaku Manu Ada Ali, the 25th Aku Uka of Wukari was officially coronated and presented with staff of office by governor Darius Ishaku after the demise of Late. Dr. Shakarau Angyu Masa Ibi Kuvyon (ll), who died in Oct. 2021.
