Taraba: Ardokola council boss swears-in new councillors, tasks them on unity

Following the inauguration of the 16 Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen of Taraba State by the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, the Caretaker chairmen had proceeded to their various Local Government Areas to swear-in vice chairmen and councillors of the various wards in their respective councils.

In Ardokola Local Government Area, the occasion was an epoch making event. The entire premises of the Secretariat was full to the brim as the people came out en mass to register their acceptance, support and Cooperation with the new set of leaders of the Local Government.

Addressing the newly sworn – in Vice caretaker chairman and the ten councillors, shortly after they recieved oath of office, the Caretaker chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Ismaila Zakari Dangote, sued for cooperation and understanding between the councillors, political stakeholders, security agencies and the general people of the LGA to enable the administration under his leadership, attain the desired destination.

Hon. Zakari noted that if there was a lacuna between the stakeholders of the Local Government Council and the new leaders, it would be very difficult for the administration to effectively deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

“Let me use this opportunity to remind us that the task ahead of us is a herculean one. However, it is not insurmountable. We must have to therefore, come together as a single entity, as brothers and sisters with same aspiration and goals. This is the best way to go, which will enable us better the lives of our people.

“We want to use this opportunity to solicit your cooperation, understanding and support. Above all, we solicit your prayers to be able to reach the desired destination.

“On our part, we want to assure you that we will not leave the strides of our predecessors to go in vain. We will strive to build and consolidate on the already esterblished foundation.

“By so doing, we shall welcome suggestions and constructive criticism that would better the lives of the people of the local Government Council”. He added.

Hon. Ismaila Dangote who congratulated the newly sworn-in Caretaker Vice chairman and the councillors on their new appointments, expressed sincere appreciation to the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku for saddling him and his team, with the responsibility of piloting the affairs of the Local Government and called on the general public to, support them in all ways to enable them work in line with the Rescue Mission Agenda of the governor to better the lives of the people, particularly in the council and the state at large.

Hon. Zakaria equally appreciated the past leadership of the council and all the security agencies for their lofty contributions towards upliftment of the council and maintenance of peace and order.

He however, further appealed to the security agencies to brace-up and consolidate on the gains attained, especially that political campaigns would soon commenced adding that his administration would not derail in it resolve to support them at all times within the limit of its resources.

He appealed to parents to educate and sensitize their wards on good conduct and proper politicking especially now that political campaigns are about to commenced.

Responding on behalf of the newly sworn-in committee, the Jalingo LGA Vice Caretaker Chairman, Hon Sadisu Umar Sani stated that the task given to them would not be taken for granted.

Earlier in an opening address, the Head of Administration of the Local Government (HOLGA), Abdulhaman Tanko, congratulated the newly sworn-in councillors and encouraged them to work assiduously to unite people and maintain peace in their domains.
