Governor Ishaku embarks on construction of command headquarters for Taraba Marshall

As part of his efforts to compliment the efforts of security agencies in the fight against all forms of criminalities in Taraba State, the Executive Governor of the State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku has embarked on the construction of a befitting command Headquarters for a security outfit which was esterblished by the Taraba State Government, code named “Taraba Marshall”.
The Taraba State commissioner of Information and Re-orientation, Barr. Danjuma Adamu disclosed this during a periodic press briefing held at the Press Center Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.
He stated that Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku’s commitment and determination towards keeping a peaceful, stable and prosperous Taraba, had made the state relatively peaceful compared to most of the other states in northern part of the country.
He said “due to the Governor’s efforts and determiation, incidence of kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state have drastically reduced except for the pocket of minor clashes which are already been nipped in the bud”.
The commissioner stated that Governor Darius’ led administration has slso recorded other tremendous susuccess especially in transforming educational sector and creation of job opportunities for the teaming youth in the state.
He identified the ongoing road projects in the state including 20- Kilometer Mararraba-Lacheke-Pantisawa in Yorro LGA, the 52-Kilometer Mararraba- Baissa- Abong in Kurmi LGA and the 30 kilometer Wukari-Tsukundi road in Wukari LGA among other completed road projects in the state as some of the infrastructural Developments made by the Governor Darius led administration which would continue to impact positively on the lives of the good people of the state.
In the area of job creation, the commissioner stated that the Government had granted approval for employment of qualified applicants into to the State Civil Service and the Taraba State Civil service Commission had since commenced the recruitment exercise.
He added that early last year, the Governor gave approval for the recruitment of 3, 000 Rescue Teachers and an additional 400 casual staff who were effectively absorbed into the Civil Service as permanent and pensionable workers.
Hon. Adamu disclosed that the governor’s efforts towards repositioning educational sector in the state had lifted the Taraba State University to be counted among the top 20 leading Universities in the country as confirmed by UNIRANK, an independent body accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), aside the brilliant perfomances of Taraba State Students in external examinations.
On the Government’s efforts towards making water available to the people of the state, the commissioner said the ongoing 5million Litres Water Reservoir Project at Mount Jalingo and the plans by Taraba State Water Supply and Sewage Corporation, TAWASCO to introduce more technologies and innovations to inhance efficiency in water supply and distribution chain would bring to an end the perenial water problems facing Jalingo and its ennvirons.
While calling on the people of Taraba State to continue to give Governor Darius maximum cooperation and support to enable him take the state to a higher level, the commissioner reiterated that Governor Ishaku ‘is determined to complete all the ongoing projects in the state before the expiration of his tenure in may 2023’.
