By Christiana  Babayo

The Management staff and Editorial team of the Newmission magazine had today paid a courtesy call to the state’s PDP chairman, Rt Col Kefas D. Agbu to register their support and solidarity to his administration.

The visit which took place in Jalingo also had in attendance other journalists in the state who also joined their shoulders to the wheel.

Speaking during the visit, the Publisher, Mr Williams Ayooso extended a goodwill message to the chairman on behalf of the visiting team, congratulating him officially on his emergence as the state PDP chairman and also appreciating the chairman’s promptness in response to the request for the courtesy visit.

In his words, “your election could not have come at a better time. This is the time that the attention of men of goodwill, integrity and substance are required to support the Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku in his drive for excellence and unquenchable thirst for making Taraba state a better place for all”

Ayooso went further to chip in that Governor Ishaku is doing tremendously well for the betterment of the state but he will still need all the solidarity he can get. “Governor Ishaku is a visionary leader that means well for his people but despite his efforts, issues of security and economic concerns are still standing tall in the states socio political space, like a room full of dwarfs” he pointed.

The publisher however warned that this is not time to blame the Governor, rather it is a time to show solidarity undiluted so as to achieve the common goal which is rescuing Taraba state in all facets of economy.

In his response, the PDP chairman, Col Kefas Agbu appreciated the support and the solidarity the team has pledged to his administration and promised to work hand in hand with the team to reach the set goals.

“I am happy that you all are here and I appreciate the support you have shown. I promise you all that we will work together and keep the party strong in the state” he said.

In a media interaction with journalists during the visit, Kefas brought to limelight, issues bothering the party and what lies ahead come 2023, while reassuring that the party remains strong and nothing will tear it apart because they work as a family.

The chairman while rounding up his speech advised journalists to engage in investigative journalism so as to report detailed and factual verges on issues concerning the party and the state at large.
