6 Brigade to Begin Annual Range Classification Exercise in Jalingo.

The 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has announced plans to conduct its Second Annual Range Classification Exercise 2025 from Monday, 18 August to Wednesday, 20 August 2025.

The exercise will take place at the 114 Battalion (Rear) Shooting Range in Jimlari, Jalingo, Taraba State, in line with the Nigerian Army’s 2025 training calendar.

In a statement signed by Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Brigade, residents of Jalingo and surrounding communities were urged not to panic over the sounds of gunfire or the sight of troop movements during the period.

“The 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army will conduct its Second Annual Range Classification Exercise 2025 from Monday, 18 August to Wednesday, 20 August 2025 at the 114 Battalion (Rear) Shooting Range, Jimlari, Jalingo, Taraba State.

“Residents of Jalingo and surrounding communities are kindly informed that the sounds of gunfire and visible troop movements during this period are part of routine military training and should not cause panic or alarm” apart of the statement read.

The statement also stressed the need for public safety, advising farmers, herders, and other citizens to steer clear of the designated range area for the duration of the exercise.
