TIV OF BALI HOLDS CULTURAL DAY

Tiv Cultural and Social Association, Bali Branch is organizing its twenty second annual Tiv cultural day celebration with the theme, “Traditional Rulers as Custodian of Culture”.
The three day event is scheduled to commence on the 17th to 19th November, 2022.
According to a release sign by the Chairman, Publicity Committee, Mr Williams Ayooso, the first day of the event is set aside as accreditation of participants, including cultural groups and local artists, even as entertainment of guests will span across the night.
The second day will feature a book launch, presentation of traditional titles to industrious sons and daughters, display by Tiv beauty Queens (kumashe) among other packages.
The event will climaxed on Saturday, where dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to grace the event.
The statement further explained that the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Bali Local Government, Mika Dakka, will serve as Chief Host while the Ter Bali, Zaki David Gbaa Tella, Hon. Msughter Apetave, will serve as host and Chairman of the occasion, respectively.
Taraba State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Engr. Haruna Manu, First Lady of Taraba State, Her Excellency Barr. Anna Darius and Rev. Jolly Nyame, will serve as special guests of honour.
The statement further commended Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for his peace initiatives which had brought conducive environment for the Tiv people of Bali, to go about their farming and other business activities peacefully.
It also appreciated the support and corporation of the traditional leader inship of the area, including His Royal Highness, Alh. Aliyu Yusuf Manga, Gangwari Dakka, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud Adam Kur- Jibu and His Royal Highness Alhaji Kabiru Mohammed Gidado Misa, Lamdo Bakundi, among others.
The annual event which has being celebrated for twenty two years, is a retreat aimed at showcasing the traditional and rich cultural activities, as well as celebrating the progress that the Tiv people of Bali Local Government have made in their livelihood, the release stated.
